  Society tells us to stop asking questions...

  i was just glancing at the back of the october 15th watchtower and the questions from readers.

  the question under discussion is "what should i do when i have a question about something i read in the bible or when i need advice about a personal problem?".

  the article goes on to discuss how we should consult the watch tower publications index among the many 'tools' that have been provided by the faithful and discreet slave whenever we have a question that is not directly discussed in the publications.. one statement really caught my eye, because it's the first time i've ever seen the society actually dissuade people from writing in with questions.

  Now that they've finally found a way to squelch most questions, they can say whatever they want about 1914, 1918 and who really is the FDS.

  Basically, if they put ink on paper, dubs are to simply accept it no matter how senseless and bizarre...

  2013 Baptisms @ U.S. District Conventions Reports?

  anyone getting/hearing how baptism numbers are this summer @ conventions?

  in previous years, reports showed less baptisms per attendance numbers.

  overall, annual 2012 service report showed for u.s. reduction in baptisms..

  i dropped off my wife the other day at the cuircit ass and driving out of the car park i was flagged down by an elder i know.

  he was and still is one of the genuine ones, a real solid guy.

  anyhoo, he tells me to come back as we are so close to the big a and he also tells me that a new bible is gonna be released.

  Is this true? Don't Call 911 If The Guy In The Next Seat Falls Ill at The DC?

  this from a recent thread: .

  "recent ridiculous instructions about not calling 9-1-1 yourself at district conventions if someone is having a heart attack but, instead, telling an attendant, who is supposed to let the first aid department know so they can come and assess the person and then call the paramedics.".

  i hadn't heard this before.... sadly, it seems in perfectly in character for them.

  Yes! I heard that too... It bothered me so much that I aproached an elder and asked what the logic was... His response was that they didn't want multiple brothers calling 911 all at the same time creating unecessary confusion. he emphasized that there needed to be an organized procedure so as not to dishonor Jehovah's name... Unbelievable, I know... But TRUE !!! Now maybe that's not the official WT explanation and maybe this elder was speaking off the cuff... However, the 911 instructions were clear... you were to find an attendant and let him take care of it.

  So, as precious seconds are ticking away, you are to walk over the heart attack victim and attempt to find an attendant (not call 911 yourself) and hope he doesn't die before you finally find an attendant...

  Poppers... it's just a guesstimate... my brother was a trainer and I picked up some of that from him...

  Anyways.... I was really just highlighting the fact that the GB 2.0 is a lot heavier than the GB 1.0...

  Yadda... good observation... Also, if any group of people have an "interchange of encouragement", how can that NOT be mutual? These bethel letter-writers probably have a small manual of "spritual phrases" to use when they send out letters and don't even think twice about re-using the same stupid phrases over and over. There's another word they use that annoys me... "Notice Board" ... they use that phrase because they needed a more theocratic word for the widely-known "Bulletin Board"... It's all about not being a part of the world... pompous dick-heads...

  Why elders' wives are such gossipers...

  i have a theory as to why elders' wives gossip so much.

  i believe a big part of it has to do with the conversation running dry (between themselves and their elder husbands) after so many years of marriage.

  since they don't get to spend too much "quality time" together (because of the elder husband's hamster wheel schedule), when they do have some intimate time alone, the elder's wives will invaribly attempt to engage their husbands in any kind of interchange.

  My sincerest apologies to all those ex-elder's wives who weren't gossipers when they were in... In retrospect, I shouldn't have made such a broad generalization... In my defense, though, for over 3 decades I had nothing but gossping elder's wives around me constantly. It was really sickening to hear that brother rebel was seen having a beer in a bar or that sister sexy shows too much cleavage or that brother educated thinks he's better then everyone else... I beleieve most of this gossip had a common denominator... jealousy...
